Anatomy from waste
Candace Couse - an interdisciplinary artist from Ontario, Canada - works with different types of material. Most of her work is either painted or made of textile. Her work has been exhibited all around the world.
Between 2010 and 2013 she created “The waste series”, in which she tries to explore the body. The waste series is handmade and consists of 23 pieces. Each piece is unique and resembles a different part of the human body. A foot, the liver, lungs, a hand and the pelvis with intestines (picture below) are just a few examples of the broad variety of this series.
Besides her own work she also is an instructor for adults in several painting workshops.
